Board approves naming of MSU’s School of Music to College of Music

EAST LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan State University Board of Trustees today approved the addition of MSU’s 16th college – the MSU College of Music.

The  name change recognizes the growth of the former MSU School of Music and its stature among music performance and music education programs.

The change was effective immediately, and programmatic and academic changes will begin during the 2007 fall semester. The location of the College of Music will remain within the Music Building.
