MSU board tackles full agenda

EAST LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan State University Board of Trustees took action on a wide range of issues at its Feb. 12 meeting, including several construction projects.

Among the items approved:

  • Authorization to plan a steam and construction project on Chestnut Road near the IM West Building.
  • Authorization to proceed with a major project to improve coal-handling procedures at the T.B. Simon Power Plant.
  • The awarding of contracts for Brody Hall renovations and a repair and improvement project on Stadium Drive between Chestnut Road and Red Cedar Road.
  • Authorization to plan for a major renovation project in Case Hall.

In other action, the board approved the appointment of Stefanie Lenway as dean of the Eli Broad College of Business; approved the appointment of Stacy Erwin Oakes to the MSU College of Law Board of Trustees; and accepted the Facility and Infrastructure Report from Vice President for Finance and Operation Fred Poston.
