EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan State University Board of Trustees addressed a number of issues at its Sept. 17. meeting.

Following are several items on which the board acted.

A 99-year ground lease of approximately 4 acres to the MSU Federal Credit Union was approved. Located at the northeast corner of Farm Lane and Mount Hope Road, the site will be used by the credit union to construct a new branch office.

The board approved a resolution authorizing the administration to plan for a project to install a new chiller in the Main Library. The new chiller is needed due to the many volumes that require specific temperature and humidity levels.

A resolution authorizing the administration to proceed with a new high bay addition to the National Superconductring Cyclotron Laboratory was approved.

The board accepted the September Gift, Grants and Contract report. The total amount received for the period of June 2 through Sept. 2 was $136.9 million.

In addition, the board received a report on the state of the 2010 academic year, as accepted a resolution honoring recently retired Vice President for University Relations Terry Denbow.
