Attorney/entrepreneur Brianna T. Scott was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan. She received her bachelor’s from Michigan State University, graduating from the Eli Broad College of Business and Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University Law School. After graduating from law school, she was hired as the first African American assistant prosecutor in the Muskegon County Prosecutor’s office and in 2005 opened her law firm, Brianna T. Scott & Associates, PLLC, in Muskegon, Michigan. She also remains dually licensed to practice law in New York.
A testament to the high regard placed on Scott for her professional accomplishments, ethical standards and peer recognition, Scott was named a 2019 Athena of the Lakeshore Award Recipient and 2021 Greater Muskegon Woman’s Club Woman of Accomplishment and the 2022 Living Legend Award from the Muskegon YBP. In 2014, she became the first person of color to serve as president of the prestigious Muskegon Rotary Club and was recently unanimously elected to serve as the Rotary International District 6290 Governor for 2024-25, with regional responsibilities covering Rotary Club in parts of Michigan and Canada.
Scott is the immediate past president of the Muskegon Heights Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and serves on the Boards for the Boys & Girl’s Club of the Muskegon Lakeshore and Panel One of the Michigan Attorney Disciplinary Commission (County of Muskegon). Scott is also the former Chair of the Muskegon Rotary Club’s Diversity & Inclusion and Retention Committees and currently serves as the Co-Chair for the Life Leadership Committee. In the past she has served on the following boards: Access Health, United Way of the Lakeshore, Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce and Family Services Center Workforce Development Center. Additionally, she serves as Legal Counsel for the International Churches of God in Christ, which is the largest African American church in the world.
