Attorney/Entrepreneur Brianna T. Scott, was born & raised in Muskegon, Michigan. She received her B.A. from Michigan State University and Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University Law School. After graduating from law school, she was hired as the FIRST African American Assistant Prosecutor in the Muskegon County Prosecutor’s office and in 2005 opened her law firm, Brianna T. Scott & Associates, PLLC, in Muskegon, Michigan. She also remains dually licensed to practice law in New York.
In 2018, Ms. Scott was the top University Candidate vote getter, with over 1.8 million votes from across the state of Michigan, earning her an eight year term on the Michigan State University Board of Trustees. A testament to the high regard placed on Ms. Scott for her professional accomplishments, ethical standards and peer recognition, Ms. Scott was named a 2019 Athena of the Lakeshore Award Recipient and 2021 Greater Muskegon Woman’s Club Woman of Accomplishment and the 2022 Living Legend Award from the Muskegon YBP. In 2014, she became the FIRST person of color to serve as President of the prestigious Muskegon Rotary Club and was recently unanimously elected to serve as the District 6290 Governor of Rotary International for 2024-25, where her regional responsibilities will cover parts of Michigan and Canada. As well, Ms. Scott serves as President of the Muskegon Heights Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and serves on the Boards for Access Health, Boys & Girl’s Club of the Muskegon Lakeshore and Panel One of the Michigan Attorney Disciplinary Commission (County of Muskegon). Ms. Scott is also the former Chair of the Muskegon Rotary Club’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and Retention Committees and currently serves as the Co-Chair for the Life Leadership Committee. In the past she has served on the following boards: United Way of the Lakeshore, Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce and Family Services Center Workforce Development Center. Most recently, in 2020, she became the 50 percent owner of the 880 First Street Development in Muskegon, Michigan, making her the first person of color to build a major development on commercial property in downtown Muskegon. Additionally, she serves as Legal Counsel for the International Churches of God In Christ, which is the largest African American church in the world.
